I agree with you whole heartily, unfortunately the trust I place in the Supreme Court was put awash by the US Senate when they didn't allow for a sitting President to make choices they obviously didn't want on the bench. This was a part of the cascading events that happened since Reagan and continue today. I see no change in that flood of failures both ethically and morally.
Hard to know what it will take. Among other things, it will take time. AND electing people likely to make more enlightened nominees. I will NEVER forgive Iowa's senior senator for not giving nominee Garland a hearing when he was chair of the Judiciary Committee.
